Recent Developments

  • It's 1:43 AM.
  • I've been having trouble sleeping.
  • So much is happening.
  • My two cats are swell.
  • I'm drawing a blank here (in many different colors).

I hope to put some time and energy aside soon to write a review of The New Arcana but tonight my mind is wandering, or in other words I probably won't write a review of anything.  We'll see.  I've been so wired lately.  A trip to Maui would do me good.  A nice bath in the everglades among the baby sea turtles and fauna or whatever.  I need a parrot to tickle my feet with a long feather clutched in its talons while some experimental elevator music plays from a nearby speaker nailed to a palm tree.  Sure it's hard to eat my cake in a hammock with a parrot tickling my feet, but it makes the music so much better.

I'm happy very excited to hear that my collaborative chapbook with Juliet Cook entitled MUTANT NEURON CODEX SWARM has been accepted for publication by Hyacinth Girl Press. More news soon.

STUFF TO READ: Amy Lawless & Ben Mirov

Many of you are probably well aware of these writers, but for those of you who haven't read much by them and are looking for something new, I'd recommend checking these two titles out.  I'm not a poetry reviewer, and won't attempt to be an authority on the subject, or bust out a thesaurus to describe in intricate detail just why I enjoyed these books, but I will say "I like them."  NOCTIS LICENTIA and GHOST MACHINE have both been available for awhile, so if you are thinking "of course I know about these, newbie." then I apologize.

Check out Amy's blog @ http://amylawless.blogspot.com/

STUFF TO READ: Poetry to Read/Hear by Juliet Cook

http://www.menacinghedge.com/summer2011/entry-cook.php

As soon as I figure out how blogs work, I'm sure I'll be posting more about my interests (or more often disinterests) as time goes on.  Juliet Cook writes some very interesting material.  Read/listen to her poems at Menacing Hedge.

My name is Robert Cole and I bet that's your name too.

I am not Bob Cole, the playwright from the late 1800's:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Cole_(composer)

I am also not Robert Cole the war hero:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_G._Cole

I am not Robert Coles:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Coles

And finally, I am not an older gentlemen named Robert Cole who also writes poetry:  http://archive.org/details/ElectricPoetry-RobertCole
